JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer oversees the project’s various stages from mould manufacturing to production. Their main responsibilities include coordinating customer criteria and making sure that products meet customer expectations. The Quality Engineer ensures the quality of the products, from their design to industrial manufacturing through the use of measuring instruments and by faithfully respecting the proper procedures. The Quality Engineer also identifies malfunctions or fixes non-conformities and helps solve problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review technical drawings when assigning a new project and contribute to the tolerance negotiation process between DBM Optix and the client;
  • In collaboration with the analytical and measurement technician, perform a risk analysis for all of the projects with the different actors involved;
  • Understand the critical characteristics of the parts and select the appropriate testing methods to verify the production quality (including the control tools);
  • Help develop metrology devices to control the specific points;
  • Improve the general internal understanding of part quality by acting as a vector for the transmission information;
  • Participate in the APQP process at the launch of a program;
  • Train and support the quality team regarding checks to be performed on new parts;
  • Supervise the inspection methods (control plan and statistical technique preparation and implementation);

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the team leader of Machining and Electroforming Quality Control Department, the role of the Quality Control Inspector is to act as the first level of quality control. The Inspector’s duties are to review the documents produced and act as a reference person for product quality at all stages of the manufacturing process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform a visual and photometric inspection using a binocular microscope for all manufacturing parts, either upon receiving, during the manufacturing process or at the final inspection;
  • Create various photometric, visual and part inspection reports for different stages of the manufacturing process;
  • Prepare assemblies and required documents for photometric electroforming inspection;
  • Calibrate photometer;
  • Analyze redistributed energy concentration using laser beam, in comparison with current quality standards
  • Compile CMM inspection reports during final inspection to ensure product quality at different stages of the manufacturing process prior to shipping;
  • Analyze obtained results and determine if the part meets the current quality standards;
  • Write and disseminate non-compliance reports;
  • Read, interpret and follow information from drawings, lists, procedures, schedules or other reference documents, in order to carry out the required work;
  • Participate in optimizing various inspection cycles and procedures;
  • Communicate the various problems encountered with resource people such as Team Leader, Method Agent, Project Manager etc.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the maintenance supervisor, the electromechanical technician carries out mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting, repairs, adjustments and preventive maintenance on the equipment to increase the improvements on the machines and thus, increase their reliability and safety. The electromechanical technician helps install, relocate and modify the equipment and assists all other maintenance department projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, the toolmaker must keep the moulds and other tools needed for producing the customer’s parts in good working order. They must also custom make, repair or modify special tools, moulds, jigs, fixtures and gauges to specific dimensions, while respecting the company’s standards and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help maintain, clean or repair equipment according to established methods;
  • Participate in weekly production planning meetings;
  • Ensure the moulds function properly, and initiate any required corrective work;
  • Document the work performed on the moulds;
  • Read, interpret or follow up on information from various documents and complete the calculations necessary to perform the required work;

DBM Optix is looking for several inspector packers. Reporting to the production team leader, the role of the inspector packers is to act as the first stage of quality control. Its responsibilities are to examine the produced documents and sort them according to pre-established quality criteria.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take note of the working instructions and quality alerts and ensure they are understood;
  • Follow instructions and apply quality procedures;
  • Inspect and sort products according to quality criteria;
  • Use specialized instruments and tools such as gauges, go-nogo, cutters and templates;
  • Capture data in our Enterprise Resource Planning software (IQMS);
  • Qualify and quantify non-compliant products (rejected parts);
  • Prepare products and package them according to work instructions;
  • Perform double inspection of parts;
  • Notify the immediate supervisor of potentially hazardous problems or situations related to occupational health and safety;

The Programmer-Analyst must keep the applications up to date with the new versions of the libraries/tools used and process the problems the user reports to convert them into specifications/queries.
